Will Google ever provide statistics on browser market share?

Matt's answer:
CUTTS: A phone question from Ian M in United Kingdom. Ian asks, “Will Google ever provide statistics on browsers/operating system market share like NetApplications, StatCounter? You’ve got one of the biggest data sets in existence, so your stats would be much more reliable.” Well, I still think that there is, you know, there’s bias in any kind of sample like this. The people who use Google Analytics, or something like that on their site, are probably going to have some sort of bias. Maybe they’re a little more tech savvy, you know, those sorts of things. And so, I think people would question those stats, you know, just like they question anybody else’s stats and with a good reason. So I think people have provided ways that they can opt in to have their Google Analytics Data become public, but I’m not aware of any move to sort of make, you know, overall global statistics a little bit more visible. That’s a question that you could certainly ask someone from the Google Analytics Team the next time you see them at a conference or, you know, somewhere around the web on a blog.
